Take photographs in the following six areas and create palettes directly from these:
1. nature
2. a fast food restaurant
3. your room
4. streets of nyc
5. a floral arrangement/flowers
6. a human interaction
Create color combinations based on each photograph. Present your 6 photos and their 6 palettes in the format of your choice. the 6 page accordian book seems to work the best. view examples.
The objective of this exercise is to observe and record the endless amount of color combinations in our everyday environments. You can use found paper or gouache.
sry i wasn’t there when you explained it but the composition is anything we want or something based on the pictures we took and the kind of enviroment its in? and the colors are from the pictures i get that but the composition itself?
this time you are creating palettes from the photographs, and displaying them however you want (accordian book, separate panels, etc….).
oh so they’re just palettes not really compositions… but in the form of accoridan books…seperate panels??
yes, palettes, and it is up to you the form you choose to present them.
Is there a limit to the palettes? Do you want us to keep them between 3 and 5?
between 3-5 is best. BUT if you have a fantastic palette that is more than 5 colors, bring it on.
